Plastic

In modern production technologies, more and more materials are being replaced by different plastics, including components and packaging materials. Our company purchases many types of plastics from manufacturing and service companies, or even from retail customers.

The most typical waste products are:

  • Foil (can be made of more than one material, but the most common is polyethylene, and it can be colored or “white”)
  • Polystyrene-based packaging materials (PS trays, styrofoam, etc.)
  • Plastic wrappers e.g. pallets, IBCs, big-bags (typically polypropylene or LDPE)
  • Product packaging (except associated packaging, which cannot always be economically recycled)
  • Components, technical plastics (in many cases with metal content, however, flame retardant additives in automotive plastics make recycling difficult)
  • PVC-based plastics (e.g. cable shell, pipes)

For plastics, cleanliness is of paramount importance, as some contaminants make recycling impossible. However, the collection of metal-containing "technical plastics" is not a problem for us, our Group has the appropriate processing capacities to handle this fraction.

In addition, due to the small bulk weight of plastic, it is particularly sensitive to logistics costs, so our pricing at each of our sites may vary significantly for certain types of plastic (the best example is Styrofoam).
